ASim 2018 conference included a plenary session with 3 keynote speeches and parallel sessions with 3 workshops and 27 oral sections. ASim 2018 had discussions on following topics:

  • Building physics
  • Simulation and real performance
  • Simulation in design practice
  • Simulation for regulation/code compliance and certification
  • Software/Interface development, test and validation
  • Simulation to support commissioning, controls and monitoring
  • Case studies of building simulation application
  • Community/Urban scale modelling and simulation
  • Occupant behavior in buildings
  • Indoor environment: comfort, air quality, lighting and acoustic
  • Optimization of control and design
  • BIM and BEM
  • Uncertainty and sensitivity analysis
  • Machine learning and data-driven model

This conference provided a platform for academics, professionals, consultants, designers, engineers and research students to exchange ideas and improve knowledge over building performance simulation. The event also enhanced the research cooperation between faculties from different countries and regions.

The 5th event of this biennial conference will be held in Osaka, Japan, in 2020.
