The 2nd Asia conference of International Building Performance Simulation Association
International Conference of the Asian region on building performance simulation ASim2014 (2nd Asia conference of International Building Performance Simulation Association) was held at Nagoya University on November 28th -29th, 2014. The organizer of ASim2014 is IBPSA Japan and IBPSA China and IBPSA Korea are the co-organizers. This biennial conference will be held in Korea in 2016.  

Academic visit of IBPSA former president
In January 2015, the former president of IBPSA, Dr. Jan Hensen, visited Tsinghua University in Beijing for a three-day academic exchange. On January 12th, Dr. Hensen gave a lecture titled “Building energy performance simulation: challenges and opportunities”.  

The 2nd Chinese seminar on “Annex 66 and occupant behavior in Buildings”
The 2nd Chinese Seminar on “Annex 66 and Occupant Behavior in Buildings” was held in Beijing University of Technology on Jan 15th, 2015.
Occupant behavior modeling is one of the current research focus in building energy simulation field. The IEA EBC project Annex 66 aims to do research on the standard definition, simulation methodologies and application of occupant behavior.
 

IEA EBC Annex 66. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory hosted the International Technical Forum and First Experts Meeting of the Working Phase
After highly successful preparation phase meetings in Hong Kong and Great Britain, the International Energy Agency/Energy in Buildings and Communities Programme (IEA EBC) Annex 66 formally met again on March 30, 31 and April 1 2015 at LBNL in Berkeley, CA, USA. The three-day event, included an International Technical Forum, a symposium that allowed leading researchers to present their latest work, followed by two-days of annex meetings to discuss research progress and plans.

Seminar on “Statistical approaches of meteorological data for HVAC design” was held on May 15th, 2015 in Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.
Meteorological data is fundamental for HVAC design. The seminar aims to improve the statistical approaches of meteorological data for HVAC design.

Seminar of Annex 66 and Occupant Behavior in Building in Hangzhou
Seminar of Annex 66 and Occupant Behavior in Building was held on May 22th, 2015 in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou Province, China. About 40 participants from 11 institutions or companies attended this seminar. Participants had discussions focusing on standard definition, simulation method and application of occupant behavior. 9 reports were given by the participants, and 10 papers were engaged.
